They didn’t just need a platform, they needed guidance and tools that could help them act with confidence.
Smart Trades was designed to meet that need: automated strategies, wrapped in a clear and approachable experience, so anyone could invest without stress or second-guessing.

Designing across products at Young Platform
I led the design process end to end. From early discovery to final delivery, I was responsible for shaping the product experience, translating complex strategies into user-friendly flows, defining interaction patterns, and designing onboarding moments that built confidence rather than fear.
The project spanned roughly six months, moving from discovery and early concepts to iterative rollout and continuous refinement after launch.
The impact
Smart Trades became one of the most adopted features at launch. For users, it meant less stress and more confidence. For Young Platform, it drove measurable growth in both engagement and revenue. Below a few stats to highlight:

Challenge
Too Many Tools, Not Enough Trust
For most people, trading crypto isn’t exciting, it’s overwhelming. Newcomers often struggled with timing: when to buy, when to sell, and when to wait. Even experienced users felt chained to their screens, afraid of missing out or making the wrong move.
Emotions ruled many of these decisions. Fear of loss, the thrill of quick gains, and constant market noise created a cycle of doubt. While automated tools already existed, they were usually hidden behind complex dashboards or explained in language that felt intimidating.
The real challenge was clear: how do we make advanced strategies feel simple, safe, and human, without stripping away their power?
Approach
Building for Trust and Growth
Smart Trades allows users to activate automated strategies such as buying dips, taking profits, or trading within a range. Instead of asking users to understand market mechanics, the product focuses on intent and outcomes.
Every strategy is presented with clarity around what it does, when it makes sense, and what the user can expect once it’s active. The experience is designed to support decision-making, not replace it.
Discovery
Through user interviews, support feedback, and funnel analysis, we identified key pain points: fear of timing mistakes, confusing tools, and low trust in automation.
Design
We translated complex strategies into clear, goal-oriented options (“Buy the dip,” “Range trade,” “Take profits”), always showing how a strategy works and when it applies. Progressive disclosure kept flows lightweight, one decision per screen. Copywriting was plain, human, and focused on outcomes, not jargon.
Delivery
Smart Trades was launched iteratively, allowing us to learn and adjust as users interacted with the feature in real conditions. We integrated the partner’s strategy engine into our design system and introduced new components for strategy cards, alerts, and state feedback. Special attention was given to onboarding, which walked users through their first Smart Trade as if a mentor were guiding them.
The guiding principle was simple: make automation feel human, transparent, safe, and empowering.
Learnings
Lessons Learned
This project reinforced for me the power of user-centered design and iterative delivery. By rolling out gradually and integrating real-time feedback, we ensured Smart Trades solved real problems, not imagined ones.
If I were to do it again, I’d bring live testing with users even earlier, capturing raw insights before polish, to refine the experience faster.
At its core, Smart Trades taught me that design isn’t just about pixels or flows. It’s about giving people clarity, confidence, and control in moments where they feel most uncertain.
